Designer Maker Meet-Ups 2024

Join fellow designer makers for a lunchtime discussion and exhibition preview at ADC.

We know that many makers have a solo practice and are looking for opportunities to catch up with other creatives. Designer Maker Meet-Ups are designed for you. This free lunchtime event will include a short conversation and plenty of time to catch up informally.

Coffee and tea provided, so bring along your lunch and take a well deserved break!

The August event will include a special Sydney Craft Week preview, as well as a private viewing of upcoming exhibition, CURRENT, opening 30 July.

ACCESSIBILITY

There is a ramp at the side entrance of ADC (Palmer St) and wheelchair-accessible toilet on the lower gallery level. Access to the lower level is through the main entrance off William St. Please ask our friendly staff for assistance. A full gallery Access statement is available to download from the ADC website.

Saving our Food 2022

We all love food, but the ways we grow, make, sell and consume it causes a scandalous amount of waste. The land footprint used to grow this wasted food every year occupies an area the size of Canada and India combined. Food waste also uses vast quantities of water and is linked to 8-11% of global greenhouse gas emissions. In response, the UN has called for food waste to be halved by 2030, and as a country that makes a lot of food - we export about 70% of our agricultural output - Australia has a considerable role to play. Australia started its response to this challenge with the release of the National Food Waste Strategy in 2017.
