Hollywood Quarter Celebrates Vivid Sydney 2023

Hollywood Quarter, the tiny micro-precinct bordered by Central, Surry Hills and Darlinghurst comprises only a few streets, but packs a punch when it comes to some of Sydney's best food, culture and entertainment options. We have world class foodie destinations with Pellegrino 2000, Poly, Nomad, Alberto, NEL and Kiln. Add jumping bars, a live music scene and a lovingly-restored Art Deco cinema; plus Sydney's most stylish hotels - Ace and Paramount.

Outside art includes:

1. A neon display on top of Hotel Hollywood, designed by Jazz Money, a Sydney-based multidisciplinary Indigenous artist;

2. Arts-Matter and Culture Vault curate four-weekend digital art event at Ace Hotel including Byron Spencer, Rel Pham, Mia Forest, Wendy Yu, Tim Grove, Jessica Ticchio, David Porte Beckefeld, and Sammy Yee;

3. Aeden Lee sculpture and light installation at Paramount House Hotel. In his installation, Aeden will add kinetic elements such as a hanging rotary platform and laser lights.

Music includes:

1. Ace Hotel lobby parties on Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights.

2. Live music Wed-Saturdays at Hollywood Hotel. One of the few pubs in our area with consistently great live music, supporting local musos and with free admission. Has jazz, rock and poetry on the line-up for Vivid.

3. Butter's resident DJs slingin' hip hop, rnb, soul & disco. Raise your glass to fried chicken, delicious Vivid-inspired cocktails, good tunes & a light show.

4. Every week on Friday and Saturday nights, some of Sydney's favourite DJs bring the sounds at Kiln up on Level 18, taking you from dinner through to the early hours of the morning.

5. Elevating the Tempo della Musica experience at Alberto's Lounge with food and drink pairings designed to match the music. Over three Sundays, an eclectic cast of vinyl DJs will be collaborating with the Lounge to assure a uniquely immersive audial / dining experience.

1. The Rover chef team have compiled a pre-Vivid meal, with a lineup of their most popular dishes that sing to the British seafood bistro style of food they're known for.

2. As part of the Vivid Chef Series, Jeremy Fox of Birdie G's and Rustic Canyon in LA will be teaming up with Mitch Orr of award-winning Sydney restaurant Kiln for a series of dinners.
