Touch and Tone 2023
Denise Allen is inspired by the textures in nature and by the organic, earthy glazes produced through high firing in a gas kiln.
She had attended schools run by Greg Daly, Jeff Minchim and Shannon Garson and has a love of traditional Japanese glazes such as Shino, Copper Red and Oribe glazes.
At the Shop Gallery she will exhibit ceramic sculptures, functional pieces, bonsai pots and jewelry.

Alice Lee Mendoza was born and raised in northern China. At a young age Alice showed an interest in art, especially painting. At 14 years of age she began private lessons with a master painter.
In 1981 Alice enrolled at Lu Xun Art College and in 1985 she graduated with a Bachelor of Art degree with a Major in Fabric Design. After graduating she opened her own Interior Design business in China and then in the United States.
Alice continues to paint with Acrylics, Oil and Watercolors and has developed an interest in ceramics.
At the Shop Gallery she will focus on still life paintings in acrylics.
