Queering the houses: in conversation with Gerwyn Davies 2022
Queer photographer and costume maker Gerwyn Davies will share some of the historical inspirations for his exhibition, Iridescent by Gerwyn Davies.
We invite you to join us in the opulent setting of Elizabeth Bay House, where a 7-foot-tall, fur-clad, canary-yellow beast burst from the confines of Alexander Macleay's entomological collection to be photographed in epic style for the exhibition.
Gerwyn will be joined by Mel Flyte, Assistant Curator at Sydney Living Museums, to discuss some of the lesser-known stories of our properties and how these have inspired the dramatic costumes and tableaus in Gerwyn's work.
Includes drink on arrival and complimentary entry to view the exhibition Iridescent by Gerwyn Davies at Museum of Sydney.
