Frances Madden + Band - ONLY Sydney Shows for 2022
Foundry 616 is delighted to welcome back Frances Madden, one of Australia's most talented young singer-songwriters and piano players for two shows only: Friday 4th and Friday 25th March 2022.
The shows are the first and last in a five-city NSW/ACT tour supported by The Australia Council. They will be Frances' last performance in Sydney before she takes her music to the UK.
We highly recommend booking early to secure a seat. Frances will perform songs from her album Beautiful World (ABC Music) alongside some new tunes and her unique take on a few much-loved classics.
'Frances has a wonderful feeling for jazz and blues standards but what makes her a real stand-out are her original songs and unique style.' - James Morrison / Jazz Legend
'Only a vastly talented songwriter produces such works . . . and when she chose to open out, she played jazz piano with authentic brilliance' - Eric Myers / The Australian
Frances' music is a highly accessible mix of swing, ballads, and blues with a broadly adult contemporary appeal. Frances will be backed by an all-star band featuring some of Australia's most talented musicians including:
Carl Dewhurst on guitar
Brett Hirst on double bass
Tim Geldens on drums
Ray Cassar on trumpet and Hammond organ
Karl Laskowski on tenor saxophone
Borbala Bodonyi on backing vocals
Jo Fabro on backing vocals
Frances plays to full houses at leading jazz venues and festivals around Australia. She has supported touring international artists including Dionne Warwick and Grammy-Award winner Gregory Porter as well as headlining at the acclaimed JZ Club in Shanghai.
Her first studio album 'If this were a dream' went to #5 on the ARIA Jazz Charts. Beautiful World will be released by Universal Music in Japan later this year.
