Double Bill: The Emma Stephenson Quartet + Yutaro Okuda Quartet

Emma Stephenson has been recognized as a pianist and composer of exceptional ability. Her time abroad saw her play and connect with musicians across the piano bar circuit of New York.

In this performance, with a new band that blends modern jazz and contemporary pop, Emma hits the SIMA stage for the first time since returning to Australia.

Japan and Australia inspired guitarist Yutaro Okuda's fusion of traditional and contemporary music. Premiering a new suite of compositions, expect high-intensity improvisation, angular contours and shifting harmonic colours.
