Learn, create and play in a Minecraft world specially constructed for the Powerhouse Museum's Summer school holiday program. In this workshop, young participants will be guided through Minecraft activities and games before going back in time to the Museum's origins in 1879 and launching into 'creative mode' to build their own museum treasure. This workshop series uses Minecraft Education Edition, a game-based learning platform that promotes creativity, collaboration and problem-solving in an immersive digital environment. The Powerhouse is partnering with award-winning local production company, Four Leg Media, to deliver a filmmaking workshop.   The session will be a fun and detailed introduction to narrative filmmaking: from developing scripts and storyboards to camera angles and editing.   Participants will craft a character and story world of their own and delve into the process of shooting a dramatic scene. They'll also discuss tips and ideas to help them make their own films at home.  Four Leg Media are part of a filmmaking collective participating in the Powerhouse's NSW Creative Industries Residency Program.   For ages 10-12. The Powerhouse is partnering with our Creative Residents FBi Radio to present a podcasting workshop.   FBi Radio is an independent youth broadcaster shaping and amplifying independent music and culture in Sydney. The station produces over 20 weekly podcasts covering topics from movies and art to rugby and fiction.   Workshop participants will brainstorm their own podcast ideas and learn how to create a storyboard before they try sound recording and audio editing for themselves. After listening to one another's creations, participants will conclude with a discussion about how they can continue their podcasting journey at home.   For ages 9-13.
